Punky Colour Mood Switch will transform your hair into a virtual kaleidoscope of color that instantly changes at 83°F/28°C. Cool down and the color spontaneously changes back to the original color shade. Exposed back to heat, your hair will immediately switch to another color right before your eyes.
Express your individuality with Punky Colour Mood Switch. Slice in different colors and watch them react to any heat source and back again. To change it up, simply wash your hair to start it all over again or to change up the mix.
The most dramatic results of Punky Colour Mood Switch are experienced on light blonde or bleached hair. Mood Color is also more effective on hair that has been damaged by perms, tint, relaxers or straighteners.
PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BOOKLET INCLUDED WITH THE PACKAGE. USE THE RECOMMENDATIONS AS OUTLINED IN THE BOOKLET. FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PLEASE REFER TO THESE FACTS.
Q: Is Punky Colour Mood Switch Safe for Everyone?
A: We do not recommend that the product be used on children under the age of 10 and never on animals.
Q: Is this the only heat reactive product on the market?
A: No. The original product was only available to Professionals and had to be mixed at the time of application.
Q: Are the colors intermixable?
A: No. They maintain a perfect color balance as premixed. If you add a different color to your base color the product color balance is likely to shift to an incompatible color or to become very dense and muddy looking.
Q: Is there a processing time?
A: No. Apply directly to the hair and use a blow dryer to allow it to adhere to the hair.
Q: Does Punky Colour Mood Switch stain the hair?
A: No. The product dries on top of the hair. Its composition does not allow the product to penetrate, however if the hair is extremely damaged Punky Colour Mood Switch may need more than one shampoo to be removed.
Q: Does the product stain the skin, scalp or clothing?
A: Not likely. The product only coats or sits on top of whatever it’s put on. It’s recommended to wipe up residue immediately and to rinse off any clothing. A stain remover could also be used to help remove any product on clothing.
Q: How can I make the effects last longer?
A: Avoid excessive touching, combing or brushing of the hair. If you use it on extensions, the results may last longer but try to avoid long periods of heat which will cause the color to remain in the transition color and could exhaust the pigments sooner.
Q: How many applications can I get out of the 2 oz. jar?
A: Punky Colour Mood Switch was not intended to be used all over the head. Rather it is better as a special effect on selected sections, slices of hair, the fringe area, or as slices into the area around the frame of the face. It’s also dramatic when used just on the tips of the hair (1-3“) to create a dramatic halo effect. Its best use has been in placing it in weaved sections. The 2 oz. jar should be enough for 15-20 lightly weaved sections.
Q: My hair feels stiff and dry after using the product. What can I do to avoid this?
A: It could be that the amount of product you applied was too much and it heavily coated your hair. Try using less product. If hair is really dry to begin with you can apply the product to slightly damp hair to aid in moisture retention once the Punky Colour Mood Switch has been dried into the hair. This process should not dilute the color. Do not brush the hair, this will cause the product to flake off of the hair resulting in less color staying on the hair.
Q: I tried it on my medium brown hair and I didn’t see any color change. It just left my hair feeling stiff and sticky, super coated. What’s up with that?
A: Although Punky Colour Mood Switch can work on most natural hair colors it’s easier to see both the color and the transition color on lighter shades. It works best on light blonde or bleached hair. You might want to try blonde extensions colored with Punky Colour Mood Switch to see a dramatic result. When the product is over-applied the hair will feel sticky and stiff to the touch, but should still shampoo out easily.
Q: How long will the product stay in the hair?
A: Usually the transitioning effects last between 24-48 hours depending on how much exposure the color has with temperature extremes which includes touching and holding the sections where the color was applied. The color is only temporary but in some stubborn cases more than 1 shampoo may be necessary.
